UNO's Panhellenic Association is comprised of the members of the 4 groups that are members of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), the governing body for 26 national women's fraternities. Each member sorority selects a delegate to represent them on the Panhellenic Council.

In joining a sorority at UNO, a woman becomes a member not only of her respective organization, but also of the sorority community, a community that encompasses more than 100 members. Together, all of these women work together on philanthropic projects and all kinds of activities. Panhellenic provides many opportunities for involvement in campus life and the Greek community outside an individual sorority.

Membership Recruitment

NPC sororities bring in new members through a process called Membership Recruitment (formerly known as "Rush"). Panhellenic sponsors a Recruitment period each fall, and each chapter may also choose to host informal recruitment events during other times of the year.

The Panhellenic Creed

We, as Undergraduate Members of women's fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding of good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity activities.

We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.
