UNO's Fraternity/Sorority Community Honored for Academics

On February 7, 2008, Gamma Sigma Alpha - National Greek Academic Honor Society announced the recipients of the Regional GPA Awards for Spring 2007 and Fall 2007, as part of their mission to recognize outstanding scholarship among fraternities and sororities.

Awards are given to the Fraternity and Sorority Community that achieves the greatest positive gap between the all Greek average and the All-University average.   For schools in the southern regional, it is in two categories since there are two separate regional conferences: the school whose All-Fraternity GPA achieves the greatest positive gap above the All-Men's GPA and the same for the All-Sorority GPA that has the greatest positive gap as compared to the All-Women's GPA.

UNO's Fraternity men were honored with the Southeastern Regional Award. Their cumulative GPA of 2.735 was significantly higher than the all-men's average of 2.510. The entire fraternity/sorority community was in the Top 15 on Gamma Sigma Alpha's National Academic Honor Roll for both the spring 2007 and fall 2007 semesters.
